Three Times Over The Limit Drink Driver Overturned Car

May 4, 2017

A drunk driver, who was 3 times over the limit, overturned his car and crashed into 3 other vehicles, Poole Magistrates’ Court has heard.

The driver, Dr Noel Olive, who was on his way to work at the Ministry of Defence, managed to crawl out of his BMW after the crash.

When police arrived and breathalysed Olive, he told them he had found a bottle of vodka in his car and had drunk from it following the crash.

On being breathalysed, Olive gave a reading of 103 mcg of alcohol in 100 ml of breath. The current legal limit for drink driving in England and Wales is 35 mcg.

Olive admitted to drinking the night before and did not contest that he would have been over the drink-driving limit at the time of the accident.

Admitting drink driving, Olive was banned from driving for 25 months and fined £700. This was his second conviction for drink-driving, his first being in 2003.
