A 19-year-old woman from Wantage was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after being stopped by Thames Valley Police near Bicester.
The incident occurred on the evening of 9 May, when officers from Bicester’s Incident and Crime Response (ICR) team pulled her over at Junction 9 of the M40, near Wendlebury and Weston-on-the-Green. After failing a roadside breathalyser test, the teenager was taken into custody and asked to provide a further breath sample.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police commented: “THINK! Don’t drink and drive.”
In a separate incident that same night, the ICR team stopped a vehicle on the A41 due to faulty brake lights. Upon inspection, police discovered that the driver did not have insurance. The vehicle was seized, and the driver was issued a traffic offence report.
The police added: “This was an expensive night for the uninsured driver, including a taxi home.”
