A lorry was stopped on the A1 in North Yorkshire, with the driver arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
The vehicle was stopped by police after they received reports about the manner in which it was being driven, according to North Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Group. The spokesman said that officers said the 64-year-old man from Halifax smelled of alcohol.
“He was breathalysed and provided a positive sample so was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
“Back at Harrogate Police Station he provided an evidential sample over twice the drink drive limit.
“Once sober he will be charged to court.”
