Exeter City winger Ilmari Niskanen, 27, has been fined £2,000 and banned from driving for 18 months after pleading guilty to drink-driving. The offence took place on February 6, 2025, on the A30 near Honiton.
Niskanen appeared before Exeter Magistrates’ Court on Monday, where he admitted to the charge. Following his arrest, Exeter City Football Club stated that it was treating the incident “with the utmost gravity.”
The Finnish international, who joined Exeter City last year, has yet to make a public statement on the matter. His driving ban and fine highlight the serious legal consequences of drink-driving, even for high-profile individuals.
