It had been her plan to take a taxi back to her hotel, however, she found herself alone at night in a strange city, not knowing where the taxi ranks were. She told the court for her own safety she decided to sleep in her car until she could find a taxi in the safety of daylight. The court accepted her evidence and Ms M was acquitted.
