A Derbyshire businessman has told Chesterfield Magistrates’ Court that drink driving has ruined his future business plans.
47 year old Jason Christie had been involved in a 3 vehicle road accident, when police breathalysed him.
At the time, Christie was being attended to by ambulance staff when the police requested a road side breath test from him. The test proved positive and he was the taken to hospital.
Following a blood test, Christie gave a reading of 193mg of alcohol on 100ml of blood. The current legal limit for drink driving in blood in England and Wales is 80mg.
After pleading guilty to the offence of drink driving the court heard that Christie is a business analyst who was aiming to expand his business and take on employees.
The court further heard that he would not be able to do that with a driving ban.
Christie was banned from driving for 20 months and fined £450.
