A London bus driver has been charged with causing the death of a nine-year-old girl after allegedly driving under the influence of drugs.
Ada Bicakci, a Turkish-British national, was hit by a double-decker bus in Bexleyheath on August 3, 2024. She was rushed to the hospital but tragically died two days later on August 5. Her five-year-old brother was also struck but was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Charges Against the Bus Driver
Martin Asolo-Agogua, 23, from Nunhead, South London, was arrested on the day of the crash and has now been formally charged with:
• Causing death by dangerous driving
• Causing death by careless driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol
• Driving while over the legal drug limit
He has been released on bail and is due to appear in Bromley Magistrates’ Court on March 24, 2025.
Ada’s Legacy
Ada, who attended a local primary school and was passionate about gymnastics and swimming, was described as a bright and caring child. Her organs were donated, allowing her to help six other people after her passing, her family revealed.
The case continues as authorities urge drivers to be aware of the devastating consequences of drug-driving.
