Influencer Gabriella Bardsley Disqualified for Drink-Driving While Over Triple the Legal Limit

Jul 15, 2025

Gabriella Bardsley, a social media influencer and daughter of reality TV personality Tanya Bardsley, has been banned from driving for over two years following a drink-driving offence in Wilmslow.

The 23-year-old, who resides on Macclesfield Road, was stopped by police in an Audi A3 on May 11, 2025, after officers noted signs of intoxication at the scene of an unrelated road traffic collision. She subsequently returned a breathalyser reading three times the legal alcohol limit, namely over 105 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath — the legal limit being 35.

Court Proceedings and Mitigation

At Crewe Magistrates’ Court, Bardsley pleaded guilty to one count of drink-driving. She has no prior convictions.

In mitigation, defence solicitor Gary Hughes argued that Ms. Bardsley left a house party prematurely due to “unwanted attention linked to her quasi-celebrity status.” He added that she had experienced online abuse following the incident, which had significantly impacted her mental health.

“This has been a salutary lesson,” Hughes said, “made more difficult by the public nature of her life and social media backlash.”

The court heard that Ms. Bardsley is linked to popular ITV programs and is a prominent social media figure with a substantial online following.

Sentence and Penalties

Presiding magistrate Andrew Waites acknowledged the seriousness of the offence but opted for a non-custodial sentence, stating:

“You are not going to prison, although it was an option.”

The court imposed the following:

  • A 29-month driving disqualification, reducible by 29 weeks upon completion of a drink-driving rehabilitation course;

  • A 12-month community order, including 200 hours of unpaid work;

  • No additional financial penalties were specified in the court report.
