A 71-year-old woman was arrested in Padstow after her vehicle struck a pedestrian, leaving the victim with serious injuries. The incident, involving a grey Honda Jazz, occurred on School Hill during the evening of Sunday, 2nd November.
Collision on School Hill
Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 8:30 pm following reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and a Honda Jazz. According to a spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police, the pedestrian, a man in his 60s, sustained a significant leg injury and was promptly transported to hospital for treatment.
Arrest and Ongoing Investigation
The driver of the Honda Jazz, a woman aged 71, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and driving whilst unfit due to alcohol consumption. She has since been released on bail, and police investigations remain ongoing.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
The incident led to the temporary closure of School Hill as the Roads Policing Team conducted their inquiries. Officers have expressed gratitude to the public for their patience during this period and are now appealing for witnesses who may have seen the collision or possess dashcam footage.
