A suspected drink-driver who fled the scene of a crash was arrested after taking a taxi home, only to find police waiting for him at his address. The incident occurred in Nottinghamshire, where officers responded swiftly to the crash report.
The driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, crashed his vehicle and decided to leave the scene in a taxi. Unbeknownst to him, the police had already been alerted and were tracking his movements. Upon his arrival at home, officers were there to apprehend him.
A roadside breath test confirmed that the driver was over the legal alcohol limit. He was taken into custody and charged with drink-driving and fleeing the scene of an accident.
