Man Slept Who Slept In Car On Wedding Night Banned From Driving

Feb 7, 2017

A 58-year-old man who was thrown out by his wife on their wedding night and slept in his van is now facing a driving ban.

And because of him being arrested, he even missed his honeymoon.

The 58-year-old groom, John Bulmer drank about 12 pints of cider on his wedding day and was then ordered out of his house by his new wife after they had a row.

Bulmer decided to sleep in his van but was spotted by a passing police officer. He was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in charge of a motor vehicle.

Bulmer then missed his honeymoon flight the next day as he was in custody awaiting a court appearance.

Appearing in court, Bulmer denied the offence stating that he had no intention to drive the van, however, he was found guilty and later disqualified from driving.
