It has been reported that a 71 year old woman has appeared in court after being arrested twice over the drink driving limit.
The woman driver, Gillian Blair was on her way back from the pub when he car was seen swerving over the road.
A concerned witness drove behind Blair’s car for around half a mile.
Such was the witnesses concern that she flashed her lights to try and get Blair to stop driving. She also contacted the police with her concerns.
The court heard that Blair nearly missed another car and hot the grass verge before she finally stopped.
The witness spoke to Blair about her concerns and she was told “don’t be silly you’re making a scene.”
Police attended the scene and after taking the keys from Blair’s car they breathalysed her.
Blair gave a breathalyser reading of 71mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath. Twice over the current drink driving limit.
After pleading guilty to drink driving, Blair was disqualified from driving for 18 months.
